Here’s how to fix each issue: If you don’t have an authenticator app set up: Download and install an authenticator app on your mobile device.
We recommend Authy, Google Authenticator, or LastPass Authenticator. Open the app and follow the instructions to add a new account. When prompted, use your phone camera to scan the QR code displayed onscreen or enter the code provided.
Once you’ve added the account to your authenticator app, enter the 6-digit code generated by the app when prompted during the 2FA setup process (do not include spaces). If you run into any problems while scanning the QR code, try manually entering the secret key instead. Keep in mind that this is only available for a limited time after initial setup so make sure to do it right away!
After adding your account to an authenticator app, return to Fortnite and complete enabling 2FA by verifying your email address or completing additional steps if prompted. If you’re using an iPhone X or later and can’t scan the QR code: In some cases, iPhone cameras won’t be able to successfully scan QR codes within our game client due to iOS security settings (specifically, AVCaptureDevice – allowCameraAccessForMediaType ). To work around this issue and successfully enable 2FA: open Settings > Privacy > Camera > Epic Games > toggle ON .
Relaunch Fortnite and attempt enabling 2FA again; when prompted with a QR code screen, select Use Passcode , then enter 0000 . You should now be able to see & select Allow Access .
