Have you been looking for how to change your username on Spotify? This article shows you how to change your Spotify username through Facebook and Spotify.
Unfortunately, Spotify doesn’t allow the change of usernames, at least for now. This is because of the way the Spotify system assigns playlists to accounts. In response to a user in the Spotify community, however, someone suggests voting if they’d like to see the “username changing” feature. And the page has gathered quite a number of votes.
If you’re one of those users, Spotify has generated random numbers and letters as their display name during registration; then this guide will show you how to correct that nonsense.
How to Change Your Spotify Username?
Method 1: Connect your Facebook
- Log in to your Spotify account.
- Navigate to the top right corner of the screen and click on the down arrow button next to your profile name.
- Click “Settings” from the drop-down list.
- On the left-hand side of the page, click “Privacy settings.”
- Under the “Manage your data” section, toggle on the button next to “Process my Facebook data.”
If you connect your Facebook account, then Spotify will display your Facebook name and profile picture. If you already set a custom display name during registration, this won’t work.

Method 2: Delete your account and create a new one
If linking your Facebook account to Spotify doesn’t solve the problem, then create a new profile and choose a new display name. During sign-up, you’ll be asked: “What should we call you.” Choose your preferred display name.
As a side note: contact Spotify support before canceling your old account so they can help you migrate your data from the existing account to the new one. In addition, Spotify will allow you to use the previous email address and credit card for the new account.
